IMO the EV companies have already tried that approach, i.e. buy into major players in the market that they saw as a safe bet to develop from blue sky to world leading products. However even the big companies couldn't deliver to compete with their Chinese counterparts. Therefore, particularly in the German automakers they are once bitten twice shy and risk averse to buying into a company promising they can deliver but only have produced at small scale or worse still only theoretical. I think it is foolish to think Mercedes etc would just buy into an unproven tech company without testing, testing, testing.
I know it is hard to have patience (I am down plenty too, but I invested eyes open knowing Anteotech is a speculative buy), but if we get locked into the design freeze by a major well known EV company everything will change for us. Using the past history of former Anteotech management is not a good prediction for the future imo. DR has spent a lot effort to resurrect our reputation and credibility and I'm confident we will have a bright future.
