The Canadian tariffs are more to do with protecting North America's manufacturers (and Jobs). As they say China Govt subsidies its vehicle manufacturing. Irony is Tarifs are a form of tax on purchases and an inflation driver. GM & Ford milked the Aussie taxpayer for years. Now, without an industry, we have 5% Customs duty + 10 GST + 33% Luxury tax. Not many nice EVs avoid the trilogy tax.
