Not sure of your investing/ trading technique and I don't offer this as financial advice but more about managing gains and losses and getting the maximum from trading or investing.
I have numerous broker accounts, for good reason, one strategy is to have a minimum of 2 accounts. Trade between the 2 accounts, as one account has losses use the tax loss selling strategy and buy the same stock with the other account, especially effective when you also have gains in portfolios.
When your dealing in the high spec end of the market you have to crystalise losses especially if the company is very close to 'balance sheet edge' otherwise any trading halt, suspension means you cant get rid of them (sell) until the issues are resolved.
Be aware of the tax loss harvesting, tax loss selling rules all available at the ATO website.
