Corrupt Unions don't help, and they are Corrupt, along with Councils, state and federal beuracates. Don't be fooled fellow Australians, we are drowning in corruption. No different to pacific and African nations. We just ignore it.
But manufacturing died when tariffs on imports goods were removed, and they needed to be. Australian manufacturing was outdated due to such a small market, Australian population at the time. Our manufacturing technology was way behind the rest of the world. And when these tariffs were lifted, the public rejoiced when cheap, overseas products flooded the market.
