Agree that Mercedes will want Sila to work based on their investment otherwise someone will be loosing their job.
With that said Sila was meant to be in the Electric G and they are not.
Sila are yet to prove that the can actually replicate their anode material at scale, especially at the quality required for EV's. I have my doubts.
Their Moses lake production plant is said to be capable of producing enough material for 200,000 EV's. Considering Sila also has investment from Panasonic and others its unlikely all product would be going to Mercedes.
Mercedes have already shown that they are going to offer different battery packs, with the CLA having the option of either a 58kWh LFP battery or a 85kWh silicon oxide NCM battery. Even if Mercedes does use Sila in the future, that doesn't exclude them using AnteoX or Untranode for different battery options.
I also struggle to understand why nobody has bought us out. My conclusion is that either our tech sucks or that these companies have been burnt in the past so are now unwilling to invest in unproven tech. Eg Tesla purchasing Maxwell in 2019, but then flogged them off in 2021.
