Very interesting battery heads , the New G580 EQ battery is by CATL and with a low 167 WH/kg energy density (no silicon ), not silicon Sila ? looks like they shoved a cheap battery in to get the G E waggon out in the market a few years late.
A lot of work goes into any next gen battery design and performance , silicon performance must be a part of the battery design ,a 726 KG battery is far too heavy to drag around for the G waggon ,independent testing shows Anteotech's 70 % silicon anode can reduce the weight and cost by 40%- 50% , that reduction alone gives a substantial increase in performance and range plus the substantial extra energy retention from silicon a bonus , next gen MB battery design freeze must be soon..
