I think a Relationship / Account / Business Development manager on the ground in Europe would be in a position to meet regularly with partners and ensure they have a local connection they can work with together and ensure everyone is on the same page and working towards the same outcome. They could have scheduled regular meetings rather than ad-hoc catch ups tied around battery shows.

It's very hard to make long distance relationships work be they personal or business related.

We are hopefully at the " pointy end" with many partners now , whilst the technology may be world beating ulitmately it is management that make the decisions and the more regular we can stay in contact and build stronger relationships with the decision makers the better off we will be.
