Is the hotcopper measure of popularity by giving a thumbs up valid?
I do recall the information contained in posts attaining 50- 100 thumbs up in the not so distant past.
Now they are waning in the 20's - 40's (sometimes). From that I would conclude there are many a poster who now have some reservations about the information being posted (accuracy not being contested), even though not conclusive possibly due to a lack of interest or understanding, but as a measure of overall sentiment disappointing.
I do also note mine are still in the 1-5 region, sometimes getting above 5 (rarely).
I love using data to reach conclusions about the stocks I have an interest in, or holdings, so don't be offended by my analysis it's just a means to determine where my next entry point and exit points are. At the moment it is obscure with ADO I see no opportunities with thumbs up measure under 50.
