    OK, so the 'old management' hinted at this, why did they retire if anteotch has had some offers?

    I would suggest the previous chairman had a mountain of experience in such matters, so by not giving up, whatever it was, to close a deal he decided to retire?

    That is not reassuring when the touted 'deal maker of the year' couldn't close a deal, yet more inexperienced people left are expected to close the deal?

    • Capital raisings in 2008/09 by Rio Tinto, Wesfarmers, GPT and OneSteel.
    • CEMEX – $2 billion sale of its Australian operations to Holcim, after having advised CEMEX on its US$14.25 billion bid for Rinker Group, which is the largest cash offer in Australian corporate history.
    • QANTAS – responding to the bid made by a private equity consortium.
    • OneSteel – acquisition of Smorgon Steel.
