I thought I'd give you all a rest from the constant up ramping from the usual quarters, because I had a reminder of the experiences I've had in here as a female who wouldn't toe the line, and a load of toxic masculinity that's ultra convinced the end justifies the means.
Nicholas Cage has a new film out about surf culture in Australia The Surfer.
In the film, we’re shown a country where everyone’s a prick, everyone’s performing some kind of heightened interpretation of masculinity, there’s a cultish devotion to the surf, and an unjustified ownership over a public beach. It’s a heightened, funny, deliberately outrageous Australia, but not one that feels completely beyond the realms of possibility.
Substitute 'the surf' for 'ADO' and 'public beach' for 'HC' and you get the picture.
It's kept me in laughs and incredulity over the years.
Still watching to see if there is any point buying back into ADO. Glad the culture at ADO and in here is gradually changing, God knows, it can stand the improvement.
