Technically, he did resign but without Ewen and Katherine's support, and with Glenda moving into chair and getting a better look under the hood, maybe there was a clash between Glenda and Merrill's way of doing business and David's? I also believe that if he didn't resign it wouldn't have been long before he was let go. Towards the end, not many shareholders were in support of David
