For me, I believe the quietness after the SIOI visit is down to nutting out the details of the partnership and supply going forward, otherwise, why would SIOI want to visit in the first place.
Let's say also, that if SIOI were contemplating injecting capital to guarantee supply (and get a slice of the future cake), would that be nutted out overnight? I think not.
Why I'm thinking this way is that after Merrill's introductory/update webinar where I could see what sort of person she was, I'm pretty sure she would have told s/h's already if after the visit SIOI just wanted to maintain the status quo.
