I only access via my mobile, but that is not the case for me. I only see the responses, and the quoted person I have on ignore, and their post, is never there.
The software as you know also opens to the last read post, and I sometimes do a double take when I see a new post on a thread and open the thread and you find yourself at the very begining when the thread started, which could be 3 years ago - the reason being, there has been only one unread post, and that was from a person on ignore - so there are no unread posts.
