My parents spanked me as a child and teachers gave me the cane when I misbehaved. We were in the playground doing sports at lunchtime not on the phone talking and playing videos. On public transport, I always stood up and gave my seat to an elderly and disabled person or an expectant woman..
A lot of my generation now suffer from a Psychological condition known as respect for others. It comes naturally to us so we really don't have to be told that every time at the start when you ring a bureaucracy. Most of us boomers understand the financial problems our children and grandchildren will face and are putting in place some future benefits. We understand that unless our children and grandchildren cannot go through life's experiences and hardships they will not be properly prepared when we depart. Good luck to all young and old!
