re: thoughts on avm/mnut Sought facts? They went in with an agenda far broader than who lent who some trucks.
They painted AVM as a big evil multinational exploiter of the oppressed using government military to protect illicit gains. They painted a picture of shady back room deals and rampant oppression. That's complete b*llshit!
They dealt with the official Katanga mining minister to get a mining licence. The governemt has the right to place someone on the board (they own 10%) and they did. No scandal there. The minister himself stated he received nothing from AVM.
Rebels invaded a town that supplies most of AVMs workforce. The military are called upon, they jump into the plane on it's way back from ferrying Anvil employees to safety. They ask to use Anvils trucks to reach Kilwa so they can put down the rebel activity. A gun fight is expected, no scandal there.
The military goes overboard, I don't see how or why AVM would know what was to happen. They deal with these people (Kilwa villagers) everyday, these are the mine workers. To think that AVM would want this to happen is absurd!
