    I didn’t say there shouldn’t be consequences - I think there should be. But I disagree that the lack of them has to do with feminisation of the teaching profession. School policies are set - within guidelines and the law - by the principals. Despite shifts principals remain stubbornly male dominated.

    the otter factors are legal changes - eliminating physical punishment - and a good thing too - and social changes - expectations and behaviour of all parties
