I would like to add that administration is more concerned about their promotional opportunities than actually supporting staff. Having been a teacher for over 40 years I found the above to be the case. Whereas once admin would support staff nowadays teachers are increasingly left high and dry , admin just don't want to know.
I always believed leadership came from the top and at present education is like a rudderless ship.
The very fist principal I ever had once told me, "A good student is one you would like your own child to turn out like. A good teacher is one you would like to teach your student." While I didn't particularly like him I did respect him and have always remembered what he said.
