The report put out by SIP today says that if the Aspen deal goes through, there will be capital returned- they didn't mention how much. Orbis wants 40c, and an analyst in the AFR said 31c was about right. We could have had a maximum of 55c upon takeover. If we got even 31c, it would be a dream (for new holders- sorry if that sounds insensitive to long-term holders). The problem, as I see it, is what could SIP fall to post capital return... it could be the dump of a lifetime. My aim is to sell into the pre-capital return buying. Let's hope it's not like NHC, where the market punishes the SP if it turns out to be less than expected. As stated, though, we should all be receiving- one way or another- more than 55c.
