By the way transarensa, the fibre receiver may last for a few hours, but what which system will power the phones? You'll either need a bigger external UPS or a UPS for each phone !!
In the case of fibre to the home There is a unit where the fibre interfaces with the wiring components in the house which is supplied with AC power and it comes with a 48v small battery with a charger.
In a copper network your phone is working through a power from the exchange which is a UPS which I think would be the case in FTTN, I'm not sure yet.
Your question is what sort of reliable UPS do we need for each house? ans. may be solar but power failure in a capital city is minimal and doesn't last too long.
