It is not only proximity to port for CXO 25 km for example if you look at PLS which is close to port is 130km away from Port Hedland.
If we consider that offtake agreement are CIF China, (CIF being Cost Insurance Freight paid by seller) without considering Africa which is far away Darwin is closest port compared to WA
for a example a ship sailing from Port Hedland travelling at 10 knots will take 54hrs longer than a ship sailing from Darwin port.
These 2 Geographical advantages translate in a cheaper cost $/dmt.
Proximity to Darwin also help the capex as utilities power water are easier to connect.
I am really excited by the new DFS which will quantify all these advantages in numbers.
