Thanks for that great analysis and info. I am glad to hear that ASB has a reasonable amount of currency hedging in place. The aim of my post was to highlight possible headwinds that from the markets point of view have led to the recent drop in SP relative to the S&P200 or 300 that others had questioned on this forum (and I had also been wondering about this as well). The example I gave with respect to hedging wasn't meant to be directly extrapolated. In any case if the market has the perception that ASB is currently exposed to currency fluctuations and that is not fundamentally correct then all holders should eventually benefit when the SP increases.
