The only benefit is that your investment in dollars won't drop.
So if your investment is say $10,000 theoretically ist would drop to around $6600 and by buying more now when all this happens theoretically you would still have $10,000 invested.
No you would not be offsetting a deferred tax loss but that loss doesn't go away so can be used on other gains.
