What a joke, for one of the THE most important jobs in our society they are under paid and and not respected...
Also the requirements are to low hence we get to many lemon teachers, should be a higher paid and respected job that has higher entry requirements that attracts the best, not half the second rate ones we have in the system atm.
Also you seriously under estimate the work that is required out of school hours, they can just walk into class with out spending a lot of time out of hours preparing classes etc. their holidays are fantastic sure, but most will do more than 8 hour days....
Education is the corner stone of our civilisation, people with lack of respect for it that pass there disrespectful values on to their children are a big problem in Aust..
I mean look at that Syrian refugee that came over in 2014 with out knowing a word of English, he and his family obviously respect and value the education system and he got ducts of his large catholic school this year.
