The boomers had to actually pass exams not like now where everything gets standardised because the teaching fraternity are too concerned about hurting anyone's feelings, despite those students not being able to get above 50% answers right. Everyone gets a pass to make them feel good. Not surprising that quality of work / grammar / numeracy skills are way down.
