Prices rose 45%.
Income rose 10%.
Over 10 years.
Even so, that's under 4% pa compounding for property, nothing extraordinary about that. And just under 1% pa compounding for income, so it's a gap that only slowly creeps up on you.
I suspect that in Australia there have been a lot of workers whose real wages have not gone up in the last 10 years too.
