so, in markets you find pounds, shillings and pence per - pound - but, the produce next to it will be in 'kilos'

now we're dealing with a population here where you go into a specialist engineering shop and some staff know what an inch is - and even a half inch, but hey - that quarter stuff or 6 mm.
