I agree that uranium mining was permitted, but a sensible management would have read the tea leaves and downplayed this option and not ramped it up going into an election when uranium mining was obviously going to be an emotive issue.

GGG/ETM should have been on the front foot in the lead-up to the election stating categorically that uranium mining. although permitted. would not be pursued without the express go-ahead of the incoming Government. This may have diffused the situation.

My memories are that they did not back away from their previous statements that uranium mining would add significant value to the project. This was obvious but it didn't need to be said at that time.

I also remember that before that election GGG/ETM employed someone ex-Government who they thought would be a major asset for the project. Can't remember his name but I do remember GBB was pushing the line that the appointment was somehow corrupt. I don''t know GBB's reach in Greenland but, by his account, he does visit regularly and he would have been pushing this line amongst those locals who were opposed to the project and this could have swayed some uncommitted voters.

Even today the messaging from the GGG/ETM management is lacking. You rarely hear from them. Their missive the other day revealed for the first time that neither the Governments of Greenland and Denmark have put forward points for their defence. Why wouldn't GGG/ETM be calling out the IA cabal publically for not doing their job saying they are just kicking the can down the road and hoping the case will die.

There are strategies ETM could employ to move things along but they just seem content to sit back and wait for things to happen.

They never said that they attended the last US-sponsored meeting regarding mining development and you don't know whether they didn't know (which is inexcusable) or could not be bothered (which is also inexcusable). Wouldn't that have been the perfect forum to get their case out there in the public view rather than just sitting in a lawyer's drawer.

ETM management react very slowly and are not a proactive management in my view. They need to get out there and earn their not inconsiderable wages.
