I certainly wholeheartedly agree to everything else you have said. It certainly does make you wonder whether the politicians do actually want independence. Might be a case of having it too easy for too long. Like a child who doesn't want to move out of home in his late 20s because everything's been a bit easy. Mainly because they don't want to make the sacrifice of independence and start putting some effort into taking over what the parents are doing for them. Every country has a mining sector and they open up mines that will operate at some degree of risk.
