Why did AIC Mines choose the underground link drive option?

    Hi AIC Miners,

I was reading the latest raise presentation and it reminded me there's something I've never properly understood about AIC's plan..

AIC Mines are building a great long tunnel from Eloise to Jericho, at some expense of both time and money. But the tunnel isn't particularly deep and there are vent shafts along it.

Im an investor, but not a miner. Can anyone who knows mining help me understand why they chose to build a long tunnel, rather than simply ramp down from above Jericho? Particularly as Jerico, so far at least, seems to be shallower than Eloise..

I'm confident there's a reason that makes sense - it's a capable team from all appearances - but I don't know what that reason is.
