This was a rust belt victory for Trump - make no mistake about that.

Young people marching in the streets or footage of women crying won't change that. The media in DC, New York and California with their heads in the sand won't change that either.

I was at home watching the fixture on ABC24 and following the nytimes. It was clear from the nytimes Live election forecast "speedometer" that Trump was taking a walk in the park through the mid west.

It took another half an hour before it became apparent on the ABC24. Just one more (of many) media outlets around the world that had a carefully scripted election story to tell - which had unravelled by 1pm our time.
