Probably the most important thing that anyone should consider before they invest in any share, but especially in any sector, is the direction that economy is headed. I don't know anything about Myers except that they sell overpriced clothes from Bangladesh, but consider this. ALL RETAIL is getting hammered at the moment. Why? Because the average consumer has no discretionary income. Why? Because they spent all their paychecks trying to keep a damn roof over their heads. I look at retail this way:
What do I need? 1. Shelter, 2. Food, 3. Clothes, 4. Beer, 5. S..t from China.
If needs one to four have been met, I can spend my money on number five. Therefore, if the economy is booming (up until 2013 in Australia that was the case) then I can spend it on crap. If it is sinking (since 2013 in Australia that has been the case) then I better make sure needs 1-4 have been met.
Learn macroeconomics. Learn Cycles. Learn Charting. Then you can learn to drive a Lambo at high speed.
