I like my league and looked forward to having two whistle blowers on the field: one to police the 10 mts and the other keeping an eye on the forward pass. Things have merely got technical with it degenerating to the technical penalties of union with the sins I think so critical, still the same.
Back to cricket: It looks as if you go the whole hog and use "hot spot" and "hawk-eye" with authority to over-ride the men in the middle or you go back to the "good old days" which would mean using the best umps, including the best from the competing nations. I find the concept of "neutral" umps an insult to their professionalism.
