I always find the "Australia is so small" argument to be wryly amusing. Australia is 23 million of the biggest carbon emmiters. Which is about the same as Texas USA. So, if Australia is insignificant, then Texas must also be insignificant. That makes about 50m insignificant people. Therefore, the state of California must also be insignificant. If the two biggest states in the USA are insignificant, the the smaller states must also be insignificant. Therefore, the USA as a whole must be insignificant.

If the US is insignificant, then China, Europe and India must also be insignificant.

Ultimately, every person is only 1/7,300,000,000 of the problem. Therefore every person is insignificant and should therefore be exempt from doing anything, on any issue, ever.
