Why do leftists support Islam

I don't understand why leftists around the world support Islam. Even here on this forum those associated with the left have a reflex action to defend Islam.

Have a look at any Islamic country. Homosexuals are killed. No abortion, no feminism at all. Social security is thin to non existent. The family unit is paramount. All the things the left hate are there. Paedophilia is allowed. Even slavery is back.
Yet the leftists would bring this culture to us?

I can only assume that their self loathing of our culture feeds a self destructive need.
