    "i dont see how that can be possible. to believe in "a" god is what everyone is capable of and does, whether they admit it or not, but to believe in God the father without acknowledging jesus as his son and the way in which we reach him, seems at odds with what christianity really means."

    That is where Christians fail to understand. For those who are not Christians, it is not necessary to have to believe in Christianity to believe there is a God.

    When you can grasp this distinction, you will see that Christianity and God are not mutually inclusive to the exclusion of others who do not subscribe to Christian doctrine of morality and ethnics.
