I've seen this happen many times before, when a company has a large capital return or special dividend or both, a lot of people buy thinking the price has crashed, and subsequently the stock climbs for a few days. Doesn't help when platforms such as commsec show the stock losing 65% when it's actually gone up 10%, people think they're getting a bargain when they're actually paying overs!
