Yes there are so many ifs. It's unprecedented and Harris still has the issue of upholding the Constitution (Amend. 25 I think) which requires her to act to remove Biden if he has become unable to govern. She swore allegiance to the Constitution so I think they'll attack her on that.

As to the Convention, yes, all bets are off and if the Dem power brokers don't do something, and soon, they'll be 'sleep walking' and stuck with Harris who Trump will have no trouble defeating. She got $50 million in donations today so that's going to be a factor as well. Another candidate would have to raise their own money I believe.
