I've often noticed when reading history that many cities were divided into "quarters" where Jewish, Christian, Muslim and other ethnicities all lived to gather, separated from other "quarters". humans have a habit of residing next door to people we agree with.

in Sydney we have concentrations of Chinese expatriots, Jews, and Muslims living in similar conditions. they like to establish their cultural bases to make Aus look more like a criss between, for eg, Vietnamese and Aus styles. in the heart of Sydney we have China Town, common in many cities, where Chinese culture is celebrated. many people who retain the culture of their country of origin maintain such connections. its not a distinctly Muslim matter.

imo its a good thing to have different cultural constructs around a city. it enables enjoyment, appreciation of different cultures without us having to journey. making different cultures an everyday experience. diversity is a strong measure of the success of a nation imo. the desirability of a country as a place to raise a family and find security after the vicissitudes of tyrannical rule.

    safe and happy journey Tau.
