1. BHP have very high hurdle rates before they take on a mining project. As the years havew gone by the hurdle rates have got higher. Only "world class" orebodies will do now.
2. Sometimes small fellas are more efficient than big ones as they are leaner and hungrier and cut corners that the big boys dont.
And just because there is a lot of Au and Cu there doesnt mean it will be a cash cow........
