why do we still have t+3?

    Does anyone know why we still have T+3 for settlement of trades? Seems to me it's time to review that notion. I don't see why I should have to have funds in my account to purchase shares, but cannot collect for 3 days.

    With electronic trading and banking, this practice seems very archaic. Who gets the use of my funds in the meantime?

    Any comments?
