    Rose, the post that offends you is no more offensive than the post that started the thread. I knew there were some people on this board with quaint attitudes. I didn't realise there were still so many misogynists around who were unashamed to be sexist in public.

    The idea that having the same opportunities as a man means having to turn into a man is stupid. From a couple of the extreme posts here (including the OP), I think a lot of men must be scared witless of pitting themselves against women in case they come off second best. Imagine how they'd go with a woman as their boss in the workplace (not just at home :) )

    It doesn't have to be a competition, guys.

    Women (except your sweet wives of course) just want the barriers removed that prevent them from living a good life and choosing the life they want.

    (I wouldn't be a man for quids.)
