A Caesarian is a major operation so there is actually more post operative problems and pain than there is with natural birth. And natural birth is not necessarily painful - an epidural sorts that out. Or Scientology.
My wife had three kids naturally with no pain relief except a bit of nitrous on the first one (useless apparently). If she had needed a caesarean she would have been the same mother- no better no worse.
