A good read through the threads attached to TLS will give you a starting point on the pro's and cons.
It is a great pity our political leaders and do not avail themselves of this information.
For myself I found some contributions by poster "Forest Gump" which questioned the need let alone viability of a 100Mb network thought provoking.
I believe that without Telstra infrastructure and expertise the NBN will be an unacceptable cost on our country.
