Maintenance cost Davo, that's what you're missing! I worked on an automated line, and yes you can reduce people i.e labour cost, but when the automated machines breakdown or need spare parts to keep the line running at 100% output/efficiency $$$$$$. Plus cap ex to install the machines is expensive too. If only the machine manufactures offered a 5yr unlimited km warranty....
