nothing, nokia did it, they had a good run, but they did eventually fall to Apple
I dont think a local robotic industry sprung from that success though
manufacturing robotics is a fairly old industry and its not too high margin , simply because people would be cheaper
I worked on a project where the customer decided people(welders) were almost as good as the robot so they didnt bother in the end
