Do you have a link to that source you refer to?
I only looked at MMR today for their pathetic attempt to latch their name next to "Gorgon" in today's ann.
It all points to MMR's credibility - any company that quotes p10's by themselves is leading investors up the river.
But MEC have quoted all three - refer to:

The other important thing to note though is that PEP11 is the size of texas. That p10 figure is coming from FIVE different targets.
The best target is the Fish prospect which accounts for approx half the estimation.
(If you adv search "fish the fish" - all the numbers are there)
As for p10 / p50 and p90 - those numbers do correlate with 10% / 50% and 90%
