Try asking old liberals because the ground taken up by current labor is the same as liberals stood on many years ago. Liberals and labor have shifted to the right considerably over the last few years and bear no resemblance to their previous appearances. Perhaps that is why both parties say strange things because they are always on new ground towards the right; a deep recession will find them both on old ground as they swing left where I'm sure they will be more comfortable.
