Abbott refused to vote for the one off flood levy in 2011.
The ALP secured cross-bench support to pass the levy to assist flood victims in Queensland at the time.
Nick Xenophon signed on, after getting the Government to agree to make states take out flood insurance policies, and to conduct an inquiry into why Queensland (in early 2011) didn't have one.
The Abbott government is wiping out our manufacturing industry and showing very little initiative, to provide adequate assistance or compensation to affected regions.
What is supposed to happen now?
These regions didn't suddenly disappear.
The Abbott government needs to provide answers.
