RBA governor mentioned this afternoon our interest rates were lower than the US when pressured with questions, but failed to mention that the majority of mortgage holders in US are on 30 year fixed terms and would be unaffected by rates movements. Despite this, the FED were able to bring down inflation faster without affecting homeowners etc.
Unbelievable that we don't have 25-30 year fixed mortgages in this country, absolute rort.
