The answer is simple. No one else in this world has it. The reason is quite simple. 30 years fixed term mortgage is underwritten by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, which are endorsed by US treasury as evidenced in the GFC. Therefore 30 year fixed mortgages is de facto social welfare arrangement for the US citizens as a result of the US dollar currency tax to the rest of world.-Milton Friedman
